Syncret: AI-Authored Future Ritual Objects

Syncret is a future incense holder authored by an AI system.

Future Ritual Objects

The system studies incense rituals as heritage, then selects two museum artifacts and synthesizes a single form. A transparent cube frames the object so each face alternately reads as intact identity or hybrid reading. By reformatting ritual continuity into shifting legibility, Syncret asks what persists and what disappears when AI redesigns culture.

Heritage as Design Grammar

We curated a reference corpus of representative incense-related artifacts, including censers and incense holders, to ground Syncret in ritual objects as cultural heritage. A custom vision-language model extracts cues such as CMF, manufacturing traces, structural typologies, and ritual affordances, treating heritage as a legible design grammar rather than a style palette.

From Fusion to Fabrication

The workflow moves from artifact selection and two-dimensional fusion to three-dimensional synthesis and full-color fabrication, preserving recognizable attributes while producing a new ritual object.
